The South Carolina Shrimpers Association and Mt. Pleasant Seafood are pleased to announce
that they have reached a mutually satisfactory resolution of all claims involving Mt. Pleasant Seafood
in the ongoing “Shrimpgate” matter.
Mt. Pleasant Seafood is and always has been a proud supporter of the South Carolina
shrimping fleet and of our region’s long-standing traditions. Locally owned and operated for 80 years,
across 4 generations the Fitch Family has fed and supported the town of Mt. Pleasant since it was
barely a village. They have built their name on trust, community ties, and a steadfast commitment to
quality. Following this matter, they have taken immediate steps to review procedures with their team
and ensure full clarity and compliance moving forward.

conversations we’ve had throughout this process,” said the South Carolina Shrimpers Association.
“They have been longtime allies of the local shrimping industry, and their willingness to engage in

shrimping industry.”
